December 14, 2017:
We are right in the middle of the Christmas holiday season. This time of year, we have many things pulling us in a lot of different
directions, whether that is last minute shopping, preparing meals, or getting the house cleaned as we anticipate the arrival of family.
All of these "pressures" and "demands" tend to create stress. When we are stressed, joy is sucked right out of our lives. This is supposed
to be a season for which we celebrate God's love for us through the birth of His son, Emmanuel (God with us), and then in return
share that joy and love with others. The irony is it is hard to love while stressed. It is hard to reflect on God's love for humanity
when there is no joy in our lives. To fix this, we have to figure out what is most important to us.  And then go and do that well.
November 13, 2017:
This week we had our  annual "Celebration Sunday." We celebrated 20 years of God's faithfulness and goodness to our church family. Charles Lewis, friend of our church and pastor of Dothan Community Church, spoke on Psalm 90. He challenged us through God's word to "count our days in order to make our days count." After the service, we enjoyed each other's fellowship with a meal.
November 1st, 2017:

She was diagnosed with high blood pressue and elevated blood sugar a few months back at the little hospital in Greenville, which is not very clean or modern. She has back pain, chest pain, numbness in the arms, hands, and sometimes in her legs. The malaria by itself can be very bad over there. Shadrach hopes to take her to Monrovia in a few days so she can be seen by a real physician in a larger, more modern hospital. We give God all of the glory! Through His mercy and grace, we were able to raise thousands of dollars for Liberian Ministry to buy rice for the children and pay the teachers part of their salaries.
